Hey! I’m Shan,

Certified training and nutrition coach, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Holistic Health Practitioner.

After dealing with chronic bloating, debilitating fatigue and brain fog, anxiety attacks and more for YEARS despite living an overall “healthy” lifestyle, just to be given an IBS diagnosis and sent on my way, I knew that if I wanted to feel better once and for all I had to take matters into my own hands.

As a personal trainer I was so confused how I could be eating well, working out regularly throughout the week, getting 8 hours of sleep, drinking enough water, etc. and still be feeling so terribly every single day, not to mention having such a tough time actually seeing any progress from all of the work I was putting in at the gym. I went to doctor after doctor and no one seemed to care enough to take me seriously. I was given an IBS diagnosis after a colonoscopy, and only found out because I read the procedure notes myself. When I later found out I also had cystic and inflamed ovaries, I was told my only option was to start back up on birth control, or deal with it.

I decided that enough was enough, and I started mentoring under a board certified nutritionist, as well as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. At the same time, I continued to research on my own and take more courses on gut health and hormones, and eventually enrolled in the FDN-P course so that I would never have to invalidate a clients’ feelings and symptoms. I wanted to have the ability to offer all of the testing that I wish was available to me when I started feeling my worst.

Now, my main goal is to look at each person as a WHOLE to get to the root of their symptoms. Working with me means not bouncing around between “specialists” for months on months or even years all to be told “you’re fine” and brought back to square one.

My Approach

Well Balanced offers a whole picture, functional approach for your health so that you’re not only not bouncing from doctor to doctor trying to get the simplest of tests done one at a time to receive answers, but you’re also getting a whole picture of your health and all dots are being connected. My goal is to leave no stone left unturned when it comes to getting to the root cause of your symptoms.
